Police Chief Appointed Public Safety Commissioner

Gov. Jim Douglas, R-Vermont, has appointed Burlington Police
Chief Tom Tremblay as Vermont's next Commissioner of Public
Safety. Tremblay will replace current Commissioner Kerry
Sleeper who is retiring. Tremblay starts his new job January
7th.

Tremblay, 46, has 24 years of policing and public safety
experience and has worked for the City of Burlington since
1983.
